The Problem

Expandi serves three different types of customers:

  1. Single-users & small teams
  2. Big sales teams
  3. Lead Generation Agencies

So far, they’ve dominated single-user acquisition, and their sales team is focused on onboarding other sales teams. However, they had problems acquiring a very specific type of market: lead generation agencies.

The Solution

To help Expandi get more lead-gen agency leads, we’ve used our Media-Brand Playbook.

We focused our efforts on creating multiple pieces of thought leadership content:

  • Expert-level articles full of unique insights and secret knowledge (gathered from our own experience and by interviewing other team members)
  • Running a podcast specifically designed for lead-generation agencies
  • Repurposing the content into posts and lead magnets and boosting it with Twitter ads (check the metrics below; that was the average performance of every lead magnet post we wrote):

We then sent all the leads to our newsletter, which we used to nurture the leads and send them personalized offers to switch their entire agency operations to Expandi (at the moment when they were ready).

The Results

As the end result, over 70% of the total addressable market is subscribed to the Expandi Lead Gen Agency newsletter, which brings a considerable number of new inbound leads and deals every month.

Not to mention that the overall reach on social media was over 1.5m during the first 6 months.
